In 1851 Tretyako' family bought the house in Lavrushinsky Lane. B 1856 to year, Pavel Mikhaylovich got the two first pictures which became the beginning of its legendary collection. In 1867 "Pavel and Sergey Tretyakov' Moscow city gallery" was already open for general public in Zamoskvorechye. Its collection totaled 1276 pictures, 471 drawings and 10 sculptures of the Russian artists, and also 84 pictures of foreign masters. In 1892 Tretyakov presented the collection to Moscow. The Tretyakov gallery became the first public museum in Russia. Today here it is possible to see a unique collection of works of art of the XI-XX centuries. They say that pictures from the Tretyakov Gallery collection somehow especially, mystically influence people. For example, the picture "Morning of Streletsky Execution" of Surikov became the reason of a long serious illness of the daughter of Pavel Tretyakov. The image of the Vladimir Mother of God helped to protect Moscow from the enemy more than once. And positive impact on the audience of cloths of Levitan, Nikolay Roerich can even be measured by devices! There is a known legend connected with an exposition of Tretyakov gallery: girls can't watch not a vydanye long at Maria Lopukhina's portrait (I died soon after writing of a picture). There was it thanks to secular gossips who considered that Maria's father, Ivan Lopukhin, the famous mystic and the master of Masonic lodge, enticed spirit of the daughter into this portrait.
